Great, it almost has been 2 years since I touched this website... Have been extremely busy with my student exchange in the wonderful city New York. And right after that have been busy with my graduation. Rejoicing with the great news that I finally graduated in somewhere january 2005. Not much time to rest I started working in the biggest games company in Holland, Guerrilla Games in Amsterdam. They are known for the first person shooter game on the Playstation2, Killzone. So here I am, at a total different domain because I had some problems with my provider. Hope the domain will be up soon again. Anyway, just doing some last minute update on some text. Planning to redesign the whole website, Will also put my latest stuff online. Yes, inlcuding my graduation film! So stay tuned! |

It's a sin. It has taken me 9 months to update this site. Many things has happened since my last update. But before talking about that I want to thank but also Congratulate my good friends, Bart en Edwin, from Resolume in The Hague. They have finally released version 1.5 of their popular VJ software Resolume. More big news from this corner, they have released some pics and info of their experimental MIDI hardware to control their software, the Bbox. And do you wanna be cool? Order their t-shirt and belong to the elite group! Check for more news on their site. One reason for not updating my site earlier then I wanted, School projects. It has been one crazy ride the past 9 months. But there was one good thing, I was able to concentrate only on 3D animation! The projects can be found on the "ThreeD animation and "Traditional animation part. One project is still in progress. It's the poem project wich wrote basically about a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. From a project I initially wanted to finish quickly and swift has turned into a big project. Driving forces are the will to take it visually to a new level and learn new techniques, effects and software. Recently it even has acquired the status 'graduation project'. Hmmm, another sin to confess... It conecerns the Resolume Bbox project. The original plan was to make an animation of the model I made. Some kind of a promotional animation. But unfortunately this project has be postponed without any further notice. The reason is that Resolume has received a lot of positives response on the Bbox, but also a lot of useful feedback to improve it. Resolume and I have recently started talking about the next generation Bbox. So stay tuned for new design, renders and hopefully an animation! Nothing much has been updated to this site. Some tweaks on the navigation. Spelling and grammar check again. I have also put my resume (short version) online. And of course I added new projects I have finished in the last 9 months. Enough chit chat, go explore my site and get crazy and enjoy the hot summer! |

Just as I have indicated in my last update I planned to do some serious tweaking on the navigation in the
gallery. I basically had two choices; images or text. To keep up the speed I choose for the text solution.
Besides I would also have direct acces to change the naviagtion without rendering the images first.
From now on it's possible to zap from one project to another, but only within a certain category. Today I was so on the roll to update my site that I have also added the 'close pop-up window' button. I have placed it at the bottom of window. I'm not really pleased with it, so I might change it... This update will probably be the latest one for this year. At the time of writing this I'm very busy with schoolprojects. You can read my plans on the progres page. Basically I have three projects running wich are targeted to be delivered in januari 2003. I have been asked to make an animation of the Resolume bbox by the Resolume guys. Because of the busy schedule I'm going to work on this animation in januari. Maybe I can find little time to make an animation test in december. But the actually production will start right after the deadline of exams. |

Wow, it looks like I update my website every month! That's quite a lot considered my busy school schedule.
I have improved my website on several points. Although I didn't improve the points I have in my
todo-list. If time permits it I'll do two points concerning the gallery somewhere next week. I've added my resume and a new project... please read on for further details. Yes, the resolume bbox project is finally finished!!! It took me around 2 months (2 to 3 days a week) to build this bbox in 3D. The project can be found on the "ThreeD animation part. Some little layout and spelling glitches are taken out. the side project page is merged into the threeD animation page. Now all 3D animations (all school and personal projects) I make can be accessed at the ThreeD animation page. The gallery link got accompanied with an icon. This step is taken to make clear that this is a link in case the color wasn't obvious enough. I have put my resume online. Because I want to protect myself for personal reason (it's on the internet afterall) my resume is a private page. Although I might put it public in the near future if there are a lot of request fot it. My resume can only be seen on request. Please sent an email with who you are why you want to see my resume. With the right reason I'll send you the address as soon as possible. The changelog page can be accessed right away when entering the site on the first page. |

Irritated by the high alert message counts with this site when viewing it in Internet Explorer (escpecially
within MacOS) I have decided to rebuild the navigation system. The whole DHTML menu system has been thorn
off the site and I came up with something that use the same script driving the custom scrollbar. By using this new system I hope this site will be more user friendly. So my first to-do point should be stable and ready to guide the visiters. Because the whole menu is expanded when arriving at a project it is not necessary to make a 'bread crum navigation info' anymore. Unless I get complaints of confusion. Furthermore I recently finished the first test of making a loading page. When testing and when some friends visited the version 1.0 we encountered rendering problems (BarOne alerts) when clicking too fast on new choices or images. The problem only excisted on Internet Explorer. The problem was that IE was still downloading or was still busy parsing the page. So far I have a test of a loading page that doesn't react on the real downloading and parsing status. I have done tests with an automatic layer redirect after a independant wait of 2 seconds. So far so good. Need more tests before this loading system will implemented. Next time the gallery will get the promised jumps to other projects and probably a close button will make it's appearance. |

Because this is the launch of the Solidstorm site there have been no changes to it yet. I hope to fill this
area up to get rid of the todo-list! |
